Not saying don't buy crucial SSD's but I wouldn't buy one myself. I've seen about half of the ones we've sold to customers come back dead. After that we switched to selling Intel and samsung SSD's only. I've only seen 3 Intel units come back dead and no samsungs. Although we do sell about 4 Intel units for every 1 samsung.

(IT admin at a small IT company that uses about 40-50 SSD's a week)

I bought 4 Crucial 480GB's and they have all been working great. I'll count myself lucky.

Even despite this sale, these have really come down in price. I haven't built a computer since about 2007 and I remember the cost for a 128GB unit was several hundred dollars.

I REALLY like the Samsung ones and I have an 840 in my desktop. I sold my laptop that had both a Crucial mSATA SSD and another 840; solid drives.
